Job summary

Elsa Talent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a contract role in Johor, within the Oil & Gas sector.

You will provide technical support for mechanical static and rotating equipment, and help develop strategies to optimize asset performance and safety. You will support engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up activities, plus reliability and asset integrity improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience.
• Familiar with mechanical codes, standards and procurement processes.
• Hands-on with construction and commissioning of piping, static and rotating equipment.
• Experience in onshore and offshore projects.
• Petrochemical/Oil & Gas facilities experience preferred; plant maintenance/turnaround a plus.
• Understanding of safety, quality and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for mechanical static and rotating equipment.

• Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance documentation and provide recommendations.

Scope of Works:

• Provide technical engineering support for mechanical static and rotating equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient asset performance.
• Develop and execute mechanical engineering strategies, plans, and technical solutions to support project and operational requirements.
• Provide technical support throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, reliability improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure mechanical engineering activities comply with applicable technical standards, safety, quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical input and assurance for mechanical engineering activities, including the application and compliance of COMPANY technical standards.
• Support asset integrity, reliability, availability, and maintenance improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance documentation and provide technical recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience.
• Conversant with relevant mechanical codes and standards and procurement processes.
• Hands‑on knowledge of the construction and commissioning of piping systems, static equipment, and rotating equipment.
• Understanding of onshore and offshore project activities.
• Experience in petrochemical / Oil & Gas facilities is highly preferred.
• Experience in plant maintenance and turnaround activities will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering, asset integrity, and inspection.
• Exposure to EPC and brownfield projects, as well as commissioning and start‑up activities.
• Good understanding of contract, safety, and quality requirements.
