Steelcase in Puchong, Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Engineering Services team. You will translate engineering concepts into precise CAD drawings, support engineers and customers, and help ensure design documentation is complete and accurate.

The role emphasizes CAD modeling using Creo, adherence to Steelcase design standards, and collaborative problem solving within a multi-disciplinary team.

Competenze

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to translate verbal or written directions from engineers into drawings and relate to the original idea.
• Understand/interpret product and tool cost data related to design.
• Apply appropriate standards and protocol that govern the Steelcase design process.
• Create CAD models to document and analyze the mechanical aspects of the design; Creo knowledge preferable.
• Acquire knowledge of the Steelcase organization, processes, products, standards and information systems.
• Problem solving/decision making in technical issues.
• Interpersonal skills to work in a multi-disciplined team.
• Ability to work on multiple assignments and effectively manage time and priorities.

Mechanical Designer

Our Engineering Services team in Puchong is looking for a Mechanical Designer to join us! You’ll be working alongside experienced team, supporting projects through accurate and detailed technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mechanical designer Tools and Processes: Computer aided design modeling. Create computer models for mechanical design analysis, engineering analysis and other uses.
2. Documentation: Documentation, verification and records. Create documentation package and verify accuracy and completeness.
3. Project Support: Support mechanical engineers, team members and customers. Ensure that goals and objectives are met through effective involvement, contribution and coordination.
4. Functional Support/Special Assignments: Support department and corporation goals. Ensure that goals and objectives are met through effective involvement and contribution.
5. Quality: Comply with the Steelcase quality system.Ensure that all applicable procedures and standards are followed. Ensure quality results in all deliverables.
6. Self-Development/Network: Define and implement professional development plan with management. Self-development activities may include, but are not limited to, participation in professional organization(s), networking, educational and certification courses.
7. Influencing Others: Assist with the technical portion of an initiative. Positively influence peers. Effectively exercise interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Minimum qualification Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Product Support: Ability to translate verbal or written directions from engineers into drawings and able to relate with the original idea.
3. Economic Analysis: Ability to understand/interpret product and tool cost data as they relate to the design of the product.
4. Systems, Procedures & Standards: Ability to apply appropriate standards and protocol that govern the Steelcase design process.
5. Computer Skills: Ability to create CAD models to document and analyze the mechanical aspects of the design and to utilize other computer applications and software. Creo knowledge is preferable.
6. Business Industry Knowledge: Ability to acquire knowledge of the Steelcase organization, processes, products, standards and information systems.
7. Problem Solving/Decision Making: Ability to use a variety of methods and techniques in solving technical issues.
8. Interpersonal: Ability to work with peers and management in a multi-disciplined team environment.
9. Administrative: Ability to work on multiple assignments and effectively manage time and priorities.
