Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to translate verbal or written directions from engineers into drawings and relate to the original idea.
• Understand/interpret product and tool cost data related to design.
• Apply appropriate standards and protocol that govern the Steelcase design process.
• Create CAD models to document and analyze the mechanical aspects of the design; Creo knowledge preferable.
• Acquire knowledge of the Steelcase organization, processes, products, standards and information systems.
• Problem solving/decision making in technical issues.
• Interpersonal skills to work in a multi-disciplined team.
• Ability to work on multiple assignments and effectively manage time and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical designer tools and processes: CAD modeling and creation of computer models for analysis.
• Documentation: create documentation packages and verify accuracy and completeness.
• Project support: assist mechanical engineers, team members and customers to meet goals.
• Functional/ special assignments: support department and company goals with involvement.
