Job summary

SkyGate Integration Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Assistant Manager) to drive R&D, system design, and hands‑on mechanical development.

You will perform 3D modelling, simulations, design verification testing, and prepare drawings and BOMs, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to deliver sustainable solutions. • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent field
• Strong CAD skills (preferably SOLIDWORKS)
• Exposure to FEA and PLM
• Excellent prioritization, delegation and multitasking
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Mechanical Design Engineer (Assistant Manager)

This is a mechanical design engineering role focused on research and development, system design, and technical problem-solving. You will be responsible for detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling, simulation, and design verification testing, as well as liaising with suppliers, clients, architects, and contractors to deliver efficient and sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

Undertake research and development activities

Test and measure the performance of systems

Design and implement systems to improve efficiency and sustainability

Solve complex problems and analyze and interpret data and information

Carry out detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling, simulation and design verification testing

Prepare and present mechanical designs at design reviews

Create 2D drawings and Customer Procurement (CP) drawings for manufacturers and new products

Generate Assembly drawings and bills of materials

Manage mechanical part selection considering obsolescence, availability, and cost

Liaise with relevant departments to ensure timely information availability and customer request handling

About you

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent field

Good command of spoken and written skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Project management and CAD Software Skills (preferably SOLIDWORKS)

FEA Software Skills and PLM Skills

Excellent prioritization, delegation, and multitasking abilities

Positive attitude with strong determination to meet deadlines

Able to work independently and as a team player with strong commitment
