Job summary

Steelcase is expanding its Material Management team in Malaysia to lead SAP/WMS governance, PFEP management, and material flow across manufacturing and warehouse operations.

You will drive inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and system-to-physical reconciliations while collaborating with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, IT, and Supply Chain to enhance performance and traceability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in material management or related areas.
• ERP experience in manufacturing/supply chain environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root-cause capabilities.
• Knowledge of inventory controls, tracing, and warehouse processes.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Material Management governance, PFEP management, and material flow processes across manufacturing and warehouse operations.
• Drive inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and system-to-physical reconciliations.
• Coordinate MRB activities, inventory disposition, and non-conforming material controls with traceability.
• Support new product launches, localization, and engineering changes by ensuring Material Management readiness.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, IT, and Supply Chain to resolve operational challenges.
• Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Develop organizational capability through process standardization, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You’ll Support Meaningful Work By:

• Leading Material Management business systems, SAP/WMS governance, PFEP management, and material flow processes to support efficient and controlled manufacturing operations.
• Driving inventory accuracy, material traceability, cycle count execution, and system-to-physical inventory reconciliation across warehouse and manufacturing operations.
• Coordinating MRB activities, inventory disposition processes, and non-conforming material controls while ensuring compliance and traceability requirements are maintained.
• Supporting new product launches, localization initiatives, engineering changes, and other business projects by ensuring Material Management readiness and operational continuity.
• Collaborating with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, IT, and Supply Chain partners to resolve operational challenges and improve business performance.
• Analyzing operational, inventory, and system data to identify improvement opportunities, implement corrective actions, and enhance process effectiveness.
• Developing organizational capability through process standardization, compliance support, documentation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in material management, inventory control, warehouse operations, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or related fields.
• Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Working knowledge of inventory management principles, inventory accuracy controls, and warehouse processes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience with SAP and WMS in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of PFEP (Plan for Every Part), material flow design, replenishment strategies, and warehouse process optimization.
• Experience supporting new product introductions, engineering changes, localization initiatives, or business system implementations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, KPI reporting, process documentation, and data analysis tools.
• Experience with inventory audits, cycle counting programs, MRB processes, material traceability, and compliance-focused operations.
• Experience leading process improvement, lean manufacturing, operational excellence, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience coordinating projects and influencing stakeholders across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, and Supply Chain functions.
