Job summary

Benchmark Electronics is seeking a Materials Handler to support our warehouse operations in Bayan Lepas, Penang. You will receive, inspect and record materials, store items with proper labelling, and picker/pack orders to meet shipping requirements.

The role requires proficiency with material handling equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Team collaboration and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Materials Handler or similar warehouse role in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Excellent attention to detail when reading labels and inventory docs.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and record incoming materials and products.

• Operate and maintain warehouse equipment safely.

Job description

Receive, inspect and record incoming materials and products to ensure accuracy and quality standards

Organise and store materials in designated locations within the warehouse, maintaining clear labelling and documentation

Pick and pack items according to customer orders and shipping requirements with precision and efficiency

Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling machinery in a safe manner

Load and unload trucks, containers and other transport vehicles, ensuring materials are secured appropriately

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with regular stock counts and audits

Ensure the warehouse environment is clean, organised and compliant with health and safety regulations

Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimise workplace incidents and hazards

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets and operational deadlines

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Materials Handler or similar warehouse role in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment

Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks

Strong physical fitness and ability to lift, carry and move heavy items regularly throughout the day

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately read labels, documentation and inventory systems

A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety regulations and best practices

Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative warehouse environment

Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic

Basic computer literacy and familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous

Relevant certifications such as forklift operation certification would be highly valued
