Job summary

Samtec Asia Pacific in Penang, Malaysia, seeks an engineer to lead electrical test tooling development and first-time build verification for HDR cable products.

You will review PCB/fixtures, create and qualify test programs, and collaborate with global Samtec teams to ensure serialization accuracy and process improvement.

Candidates should have at least 2 years in PCB design, knowledge of signal integrity, and strong communication skills; a related engineering degree is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related PCB design experience is required.
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with LSET/HSET and signal integrity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design test tooling assemblies for first-time build of HDR cable products.
• Review PCB and fixture designs for electrical test and provide feedback to designers.
• Create process documentation for electrical test processes.

• Design Test Tooling assemblies forElectrical TestFirst Time Build of cable assemblies.
• Review the design of printed circuit boards and fixtures forElectrical Test ofFirst Time Build of HDR cable product and feedback findings to designer.
• Create Process Documentation forElectrical Test processes.
• Create and qualify Test Programs forElectrical Test.
• Cooperate with SIG ATG to assemble, debug, qualify new Test Systems.
• Support production floor for troubleshooting Low and High-Speed Test systems.

Perform failure analysis ofElectrical Testfailed product and determine root cause with support from Global Samtec teams.

Cooperate with global Samtec teams to maintain Samtec HDR product serialization system.

Part number creation and configuration in Samtec serialization and tracking software.

Cooperate with control engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer for transfer project & sustaining improvement project onElectrical Testside.

Above 2 years related working experience on PCB board design.

Familiar with LSET, HSET, signal integrity test.

Knowledge of PCB manufacturing process is a plus.

Experience in creating and maintaining serialization scripting.

Strong interpersonal, technical,verbal,and written communication skills are a *must.

Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree inMechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
