Job summary

Carsem Malaysia is seeking an experienced Test Engineering Leader to direct the department toward meeting productivity, yield, quality, cost, and cycle-time goals. You will drive customer satisfaction through robust testing programs and ensure equipment reliability.

The role requires 8–10 years in IC test engineering with strong leadership managing large teams. We value hands-on program management and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of experience in test engineering IC environment.
• Solid leadership experience, managing more than 10 engineers and 50 technicians.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct department resources to achieve productivity, yield, quality, cost, cycle time and zero customer complaint.
• Ensure product testing meets customer satisfaction and that equipment is properly maintained.
• Liaise with customers on technical issues, improvement programs, new product testing and transfer opportunities.
• Evaluate and recommend new test equipment.
• Accountable for the profit and loss performance of the product lines.
• Identify and plan training to upgrade knowledge and skills of subordinates.
• Plan and execute cost-down projects to meet department goals.
• Coordinate subordinates to meet the customer scorecard requirements.
• Coordinate new product qualification and ensure timely release to production as scheduled.
• Enforce SOPs and coordinate quality issue resolution across QA, Eng and Maintenance.

• 1. Plan, organize and direct the resources of the department to achieve productivity, yield, quality, cost, cycle time and zero customer compliant.
• 2. Ensure that all product testing meets customer satisfaction and are equipment are properly maintained.
• 3. Liaise with customers on technical issues, improvement program, new product testing and transfer opportunity.
• 4. Conduct evaluation and recommend new test equipment.
• 5. Accountable for the profit and lost performance of the individual product lines.
• 6. Plan and identify the necessary training course to upgrade knowledge, skill and personal development of subordinates.
• 7. Plan, identify and execute the cost down projects to meet department KRA goal.
• 8. Responsible to coordinate and ensure subordinate to meet the customer score card requirement.
• 9. Plan and coordinate all the new product qualification to ensure all the new product release to production as per scheduled.
• 10. Quality Accountability:

• i) Enforce compliance to standard operating procedure and specifications.
• ii) Notify and coordinate line quality issues between Quality Assurance, Engineering and Maintenance.
• iii) Tracking of line quality performance.
• iv) System or procedure improvement.
• v) Proliferation of the best practices.
• vi) Review of potential quality issue highlighted by subordinates.
• vii) Communicate quality alert / changes to subordinates and peers in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• 1. Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• 2. with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in test engineering IC environment
• 3. Solid leadership experience, handled >10 Engineers, >50 technicians
