Job summary

Translation and Interpretation Services Company is seeking a Mandarin-English-Mandarin interpreter to work from home in Malaysia. The role covers consecutive interpretation for medical and business conversations and requires high accuracy.

Night shifts rotate monthly with 8-hour blocks and a minimum of 40 hours per week. Basic package RM5700–RM6500. Applicants should demonstrate excellent listening, retention, neutrality, and cultural awareness.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective.
• Ability to quickly establish personal credibility.
• Ability to follow client's instructions closely.
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client.
• CEFR English Level bilingual with other required languages.
• Able to work from home on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individuals with language barriers.
• Handle telephone or video calls on demand and render meaning of conversations in consecutive mode.
• Process information quickly and concisely, recognize sensitive cultural differences, and stay professional.
• Use industry terminology and understand common procedures across Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.

Client: Translation and Interpretation Services Company

Position: Interpreter (100% Work from Home)

Language: Mandarin- English-Mandarin

Location: Work From Home (Based in Malaysia)

Job Scope: Consecutive interpretation- Live conversation Doctor & Patient, Banker and client etc...

Working Hours: 100% night shift that changes monthly. Entry points can be any hour from 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 1am, 2am, 3am etc. (8 hours online per shift, 40 hours online per week MINIMUM)

Salary: Basic package up to RM5700 - RM6500

• The interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices. The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
