Translation and Interpretation Services Company is seeking an interpreter to work remotely from Malaysia. The role involves consecutive interpretation for doctor-patient and client conversations, with Mandarin-English-Mandarin language handling. Night shifts are required, rotating monthly, with a minimum of 40 hours online per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation from one language to another for individuals with language barriers.
• Handle telephone or video calls on demand and interpret conversations in consecutive mode across healthcare, finance, government and other sectors.
• Recognize sensitive cultural differences and maintain professionalism.
• Use industry terminology and understand common procedures for calls in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, Law Enforcement and General Business.

Client: Translation and Interpretation Services Company

Position: Interpreter (100% Work from Home)

Language: Mandarin- English-Mandarin

Location: Work From Home (Based in Malaysia)

Job Scope: Consecutive interpretation- Live conversation Doctor & Patient, Banker and client etc...

Working Hours: 100% night shift that changes monthly. Entry points can be any hour from 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 1am, 2am, 3am etc. (8 hours online per shift, 40 hours online per week MINIMUM)

Salary: Basic package up to RM5700 - RM6500

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective
• Ability to quickly establish personal credibility
• Ability to follow client's instructions closely
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the clientB2
• CEFR English Level bilingual with other required languages
• Able to work from home on a permanent basis

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individual with language barrier to understand and communicate to each other
• Handling telephone or video calls on demand and renders meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English
• Processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is always professional and courteous
• The interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices. The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
