Job summary

Translation and Interpretation Services Company seeks an Interpreter (100% Work from Home). You will perform consecutive interpretation for live doctor-patient, banker and client conversations from English to other languages and back.

This role requires excellent listening, rapid note-taking, neutrality, and strict adherence to client instructions. Night shifts, Malaysian-based, with 40 hours per week minimum and flexible start times.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective.
• Ability to quickly establish personal credibility.
• Ability to follow client's instructions closely.
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client.
• CEFR English Level bilingual with other required languages.
• Able to work from home on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individuals with language barriers to understand and communicate.
• Handling telephone or video calls on demand and render meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode between speakers of English.
• Processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is always professional and courteous.
• The interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices across Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
