Job summary

Nippon Paint (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to lead product development and management initiatives from market opportunity identification through to launch and post-launch performance.

You will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Technical, R&D and external partners to translate market insights into commercially viable products, manage pricing, profitability and forecasts, and drive growth across coatings and related industries.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Chemistry or related discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in product marketing, product development or product management.
  • Experience in the coatings, building materials or related industries would be an advantage.
  • Experience managing products from concept and development through launch and post-launch performance would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of new and existing products throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritising customer and market requirements and defining product positioning.
  • Develop short- and long-term product pipeline plans based on market trends, consumer insights, business needs and stakeholder feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop product and technology roadmaps, identify portfolio gaps and establish plans to address them.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities for new product development and launches to ensure timely and effective execution.
  • Develop product positioning and value propositions to support product introduction and marketing activities.
  • Develop and manage product pricing structures, conduct cost and profitability analysis, and support the setting of sales targets and forecasts.
  • Monitor product and business performance and recommend adjustments to product, pricing or commercial plans based on results and market feedback.
  • Consolidate sales, retail and functional plans for new product initiatives and launches.
  • Track, analyse and report the performance of new product launches and existing product portfolios.
  • Conduct consumer and market research to understand market trends, customer needs and competitor activities.
  • Analyse competitors' product portfolios and market activities to identify product gaps, market opportunities and areas for business growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical, R&D and other relevant functions to translate market opportunities into commercially viable product initiatives.

Job description

You will lead product development and product management initiatives, from identifying market opportunities and developing the product pipeline to product launch and performance management.


The role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders across the Company and Group, as well as external business partners. You will be expected to combine market and consumer insights with commercial considerations to develop and manage products that meet customer needs and support business growth.


Below is an overview your key responsibilities:


Product Development & Marketing:

Requirements:

Education:

Degree in Marketing, Chemistry or related discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning.


Experience:

5-8 years of relevant experience in product marketing, product development or product management.


Experience in the coatings, building materials or related industries would be an advantage.


Experience managing products from concept and development through launch and post-launch performance would be preferred.


Knowledge & Skills:


  • Good understanding of product lifecycle management, market analysis, pricing and commercial evaluation.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market and business data into actionable insights.

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills with good attention to detail.

  • Good written and spoken English, with strong presentation and communication skills.
