Job summary

Nippon Paint (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Logistics/Import Coordinator to manage overseas import shipments and related documentation in Malaysia. You will coordinate with shippers, agents, warehouses and the internal supply chain team to ensure on-time delivery and compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in shipping or logistics, strong knowledge of import procedures, and proficiency with SAP and MS Office. You will support SST reporting and process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping, import, logistics or SCM operations.
• Knowledge of import procedures, shipping documentation, ocean freight, customs clearance and logistics operations.
• Experience using SAP is an added advantage.

Job description

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team in managing overseas import shipments, including shipment planning, documentation and compliance with applicable local and international requirements. The role also involves coordinating with external warehouses and local logistics partners to facilitate the release and delivery of cargo to designated location. Your responsibilities will require you to collaborate and communicate extensively with various stakeholders, both internally within the Company or group of companies, and externally with our business partners.

Below is a synopsis of your job functions:

Monitor, follow up and coordinate overseas import shipment activities between shippers, shipping agents, external warehouses and internal supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Oversee and manage import-related shipping documentations to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant requirements.

Provide guidance to team members in monitoring shipment status and coordinating with suppliers, agents, and other external and internal stakeholders to support timely customs clearance and delivery.

Ensure proper coordination and timely submission of Sales & Service Tax (SST) related reports to Finance and Customs.

Support the review and improvement of procurement, shipping and cargo coordination processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Provide support in resolving shipment, documentation, and delivery-related issues.

Perform other ad hoc tasks as required from time to time.

Requirements:

Background:

Degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of working experience in handling shipping, import, logistics or supply chain operations.

Possess good knowledge of import procedures, shipping documentation, ocean freight, custom clearance and logistics operations.

Experience in using SAP will be an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skill:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) applications.

Excellent time management and organisation skills, meticulous and delivers quality work.

Able to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and handling multiple tasks.

Enjoys working in a fast-paced, challenging yet fun environment.
