Job summary

HICOM HBPO SDN BHD, a joint venture between DRB-HICOM and HBPO Germany, is seeking an experienced Manager – Human Resources to lead the HR function across Head Office and manufacturing operations in Malaysia. You will partner with the CEO and plant leadership to align people strategies with business goals.

The role emphasizes talent management, workforce planning, industrial relations, compliance, and employee engagement, with focus on change and transformation in a multi-national manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall HR function across Head Office and manufacturing plant operations.
• Lead manpower planning, workforce optimization, recruitment, and talent management.
• Oversee employee and industrial relations, including disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Lead talent management, succession planning, leadership development, and employee capability programmes.
• Manage HR and manpower budgets, including labour and overtime costs.
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, company culture, and retention initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment legislation, company policies, and HR governance requirements.
• Support HR requirements for internal, external, customer, and certification audits.
• Lead, coach, and develop the HR team to deliver effective HR services.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Manager – Human Resources to lead our HR function and support our automotive manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, senior management, and plant leadership to develop and implement people strategies that support business growth, operational excellence, workforce capability, and employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall HR function across Head Office and manufacturing plant operations.
• Lead manpower planning, workforce optimization, recruitment, and talent management.
• Oversee employee and industrial relations, including disciplinary and grievance matters.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant HR experience, with significant experience in a managerial or leadership role.
• Minimum 4 years of experience managing a team of direct reports
• Strong experience in full-spectrum HR management.
• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, engineering, or multinational environments is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Agile and goal oriented
• Proactive, solution-oriented and resilient.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong ability to manage change and organizational transformation

Hicom HBPO Sdn Bhd is a Joint Venture (JV) company between DRB-Hicom and HBPO Germany. The JV between these two companies lead to the objective of design, development and manufacturing of Modules for OEMs in Malaysia as well as South East Asia (ASEAN) market.
