Infinity 8 in Johor is seeking an experienced HR Manager/Assistant HR Manager to lead the HR and Administration function for a manufacturing operation in Pasir Gudang. You will work with the CEO and senior management to shape people strategy and long-term workforce development.
The role requires 8–12 years of HR generalist experience, strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, and Mandarin proficiency to engage Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager / Assistant HR Manager to lead the HR and Administration function for an established manufacturing organisation in Pasir Gudang.
The role will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, employee and industrial relations, talent management, performance management, HR policies and compliance, while supporting regional operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and senior management, lead the HR team and contribute to the organisation's people strategy and long‑term workforce development.
HR Leadership & Operations
Lead and oversee the day-to-day HR and Administration function.
Manage, coach and develop the HR team to ensure effective delivery of HR services.
Provide HR advisory and operational support to senior management and department heads.
Develop and improve HR policies, SOPs, processes and practices in line with business requirements.
Prepare HR reports, manpower analysis and management updates.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Lead end-to‑end recruitment, including manpower planning, sourcing, interviewing, selection and onboarding.
Develop strategies to attract and retain high‑performing talent.
Support workforce planning, talent management and succession planning initiatives.
Drive employee engagement initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture.
Employee & Industrial Relations
Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary issues and workplace conflicts.
Provide professional HR guidance and coaching to managers and employees.
Handle industrial relations matters and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
Support management in resolving employee‑related issues effectively and professionally.
Performance & People Development
Manage the performance management and KPI appraisal process.
Support managers in setting performance objectives and conducting performance reviews.
Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programmes.
Support career development, talent development and succession planning.
Payroll, Compliance & HR Administration
Oversee payroll, attendance, leave and other HR administration processes.
Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment and labour laws.
Manage statutory requirements and HR documentation.
Oversee foreign worker and expatriate‑related processes, including permits and documentation where applicable.
Ensure employee records and HR documentation are maintained accurately and confidentially.
Regional & Systems Support
Provide HR operational support to business units across APAC.
Promote consistency of HR policies and practices across the group.
Support HRIS / ERP implementation and process improvement initiatives.
Work with management to improve HR systems, processes and operational efficiency.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
8–12 years of HR generalist experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Strong hands‑on experience managing full-spectrum HR functions.
Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, labour regulations and HR practices.
Solid experience in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations.
Experience in performance management, KPI, talent management and employee development.
Hands‑on knowledge of payroll, attendance systems and HRIS.
Familiarity with SMETA / social compliance audits and requirements is an advantage.
Exposure to Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) matters, guidelines or industry practices is an advantage.
Experience managing foreign workers and/or expatriates is an advantage.
Regional HR experience supporting Malaysia and Indonesia is an added advantage.
Experience in HRIS / ERP implementation or HR process improvement is preferred.
Proven experience leading, coaching and managing HR team members.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee information.
Mandarin speaking is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin‑speaking stakeholders.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
