Job summary

Standard Chartered Malaysia seeks a Business Manager, Coverage Banking to drive strategy, performance, and client engagement in Malaysia. You will partner with country heads to define go-to-market plans, oversee portfolio management, and lead strategic initiatives supported by CRM and analytics platforms.

The role covers governance, sales enablement, and people initiatives, with flexible working options around home and office locations in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in a financial institution (preferably banking).
• Strong and detailed understanding of CIB business and product capabilities, such as sales process, relationship management, risk, product sales etc
• Problem solving skill to co-create client strategy, drive root-cause analysis, analyse business performance, etc
• Willing to challenge the status quo, comfortable interacting with senior management
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong understanding of end-to-end client processes
• Strong organisational and project management skills with excellent eye for detail
• Ability to co-ordinate responses from large numbers of stakeholders
• Excellent administration skills including organisation, planning and co-ordination skills
• Highly proactive, demonstrating ambition, dedication and pride in work

Responsibilities

• Lead Strategy and Business: co-define go-to-market strategy and execution plan.
• Organise and lead strategy days to ensure alignment between Coverage Banking, products, and functions.
• Lead annual Corporate Plan and review delivery against targets and budgets.
• Manage cost budgets and front-line productivity metrics.
• Lead select strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects.
• Oversee client portfolio metrics, onboarding, and engagement plans.
• Coordinate with country marketing for client events and materials.
• Support adoption of global tools and CRM platforms.
