Ascentec Engineering in Penang is seeking a skilled CNC Maintenance Technician to support day, night, weekend and holiday operations. You will maintain and repair Okuma and Mazak CNC machines, diagnose breakdowns and minimize downtime to protect production schedules.
The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics and has 3+ years hands-on CNC maintenance experience, with familiarity of Okuma OSP, Mazatrol, Siemens and Fanuc controllers and G-code programming.

Current manpower is insufficient to provide continuous maintenance support across all shifts.
Additional technicians are required to support day, night, weekend, and public holiday operations.
Reduce Machine Downtime
Faster response and recovery during machine breakdowns.
Minimize production interruption and improve machine availability.
Support Production Utilization and OTD
Production demand and machine loading have increased significantly.
Immediate maintenance support is critical to prevent utilization loss and potential On-Time Delivery (OTD) impact.
Improve Preventive Maintenance Effectiveness
Additional manpower will allow preventive maintenance activities to be carried out as scheduled without affecting breakdown support.
This will help maintain machine accuracy, reliability, and overall equipment condition.
Current maintenance personnel are heavily dependent on overtime to support extended production hours.
Additional headcount will improve manpower sustainability and reduce fatigue-related risks.
Education, Qualification & Experience:
Education:
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in maintaining and repairing CNC machines.
Hands‑on experience withOkumaandMazakCNC machines (models: MB5000, MU6300, Genos M560, HCN4000, HCN5000) is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of CNC machine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Expertise in CNC machine controllers:Okuma OSP,Mazatrol,Siemens, andFanuc.
Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, M-code) and machine control software.
Knowledge ofPLC systemsand relevant software applications.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Problem‑Solving:
Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Certifications:
Certifications from Okuma, Mazak, Siemens, Fanuc, or other CNC machine manufacturers are a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Knowledge of automation systems and robotics integration.
Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) practices.
