Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a skilled Machining Operator to join its production team in Malaysia. You will operate CNC and conventional machines, load and unload parts, and set up tooling and fixtures according to drawings.

The role requires at least one year in manufacturing or machining, familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., FANUC), and the ability to read drawings. Safety and teamwork are essential on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing or machining.
• Experience with CNC and/or conventional machining is preferred.
• Able to read technical drawings and machining specs.
• Safety-conscious and able to work on the production floor.
• Willing to start immediately is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and conventional machines (lathe, milling) as directed.
• Set up machines, tools, fixtures, and workpieces per drawings.
• Load/unload parts safely using proper handling.
• Monitor processes to meet specifications and tolerances.
• Perform basic adjustments and minor troubleshooting.
• Inspect machined parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety on the shop floor.
• Support machining activities for the department.
• Participate in continuous improvement of processes.
• Perform other duties as production requires.

• Operate CNC and conventional machining equipment such as CNC machines, milling machines, lathes, and related machinery.
• Set up machines, tools, fixtures and workpieces according to technical drawings and work instructions.
• Load and unload workpieces, tools and fixtures safely using appropriate handling methods.
• Monitor machining processes to ensure parts are produced within required specifications and tolerances.
• Perform basic machine adjustment and minor troubleshooting during operation.
• Conduct self-inspection on machined parts using measuring instruments (e.g. vernier caliper, micrometer, gauges).
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow workshop safety procedures and good housekeeping practices.
• Support machining activities for parts under the Machining Department.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities related to machining processes and work efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on production requirements.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing or machining environment.

Experience in press machines or capital equipment is an advantage. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Experience in CNC and/or conventional machining such as CNC lathe and milling machines is preferred.
• Exposure to large machining machines (horizontal / vertical machining or rail-type machines) is an added advantage.
• Familiar with CNC control systems (e.g. FANUC or equivalent).
• Knowledge of cutting tools, machining processes and applications.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings and machining specifications.
• Basic knowledge of press machine structure, parts and materials is an advantage.
• Able to operate overhead crane and forklift; training will be provided if required.
• Able to resolve minor machining issues, with good discipline and teamwork.
• Safety-conscious and willing to work in a production floor environment.
• Able to start immediately will be an added advantage.
