Job summary

Micron Concept Aerostructures is seeking an experienced CNC Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and supporting equipment in Malaysia. You will diagnose faults and replace bearings, sensors, drives, and motors to maintain machining accuracy.

Responsibilities include responding to breakdowns, calibration and alignment, assisting installation and upgrades, and keeping accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of CNC machine maintenance and repair experience.

• 1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and supporting equipment.
• 2. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
• 3. Replace defective components such as bearings, ball screws, sensors, drives, and motors.
• 4. Ensure machines operate within required machining accuracy and performance parameters.
• 5. Respond to machine breakdowns and perform root cause troubleshooting.
• 6. Identify causes of machine alarms, axis errors, vibration, overheating, and positioning issues.
• 7. Execute preventive maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime.
• 8. Conduct machine inspections to detect early signs of wear or abnormal conditions.
• 9. Perform calibration, alignment, and machine leveling checks when required.
• 10. Assist with installation, setup, relocation, and upgrading of CNC machines.
• 11. Perform machine functional testing after repair, installation, or maintenance activities.
• 12. Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair reports, downtime logs, and spare parts usage.
• 13. Report recurring machine issues and equipment reliability concerns to management.
• 14. Follow machine safety procedures including lockout/tagout requirements.
• 15. Ensure maintenance activities comply with company EHS standards and maintain 5S in maintenance areas.
• 16. Support production teams in resolving machine-related issues and minimizing downtime.
• 17. Participate in equipment improvement, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
• 18. Ability to maintain and repair CNC machine mechanical components including linear guides, ball screws, spindles, bearings, tool changers, and workholding systems.
• 19. Understanding of CNC control and electrical systems including servo motors and drives, encoders and sensors, electrical control panels, and machine alarms and diagnostics.
• 20. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems including hydraulic pumps and valves, pneumatic cylinders and regulators, as well as coolant and lubrication systems.
• 21. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including machine manuals, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and maintenance procedures.
• 22. Demonstrates strong problem-solving ability to diagnose equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• 23. Takes accountability for machine reliability and maintenance responsibilities.
• 24. Maintains strong attention to detail to ensure maintenance work is performed accurately and prevent recurrence of machine issues.
• 25. Demonstrates strong safety awareness by adhering strictly to safety procedures and ensuring equipment is safe for operation.
• 26. Works effectively with production machinists, supervisors, engineers, and other departments to resolve machine issues.
• 27. Applies strong problem-solving skills to diagnose equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• 28. Takes ownership of machine reliability and maintenance responsibilities.
• 29. Maintains high attention to detail to ensure maintenance work is performed accurately and prevent recurrence of machine issues.
• 30. Adheres strictly to safety procedures and ensures equipment is safe for operation.
• 31. Collaborates effectively with production machinists, supervisors, engineers, and other departments to resolve machine issues.
• 32. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance machine reliability, maintenance efficiency, and operational performance.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in CNC machining, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC machine maintenance and repair.
