Job summary

Mattech Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Selangor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support planning, scheduling and execution of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for production machinery and utilities. The role includes coordinating external contractors and maintaining inventory for critical spares.

You will ensure compliance with safety, quality and ISO9001 requirements, while tracking maintenance performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate with SKM/Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical faults and maintenance.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical diagrams; knowledge of automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance planning and scheduling for preventive, predictive and corrective activities.
• Oversee facilities, electrical systems, water supply, compressors, ventilation, and utilities.
• Coordinate external contractors and supervise maintenance workers.
• Manage spare parts inventory and budget for maintenance department.
• Ensure safety compliance with applicable regulations and ISO standards.
• Prepare maintenance records and reports (MTBF/MTTR, downtime, costs).
• Identify improvements for reliability, energy efficiency, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance planning and scheduling. To plan, schedule and monitor preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities. Ensure production machinery, equipment, utilities and facilities are mainlined in good operating condition. Develop and maintain solid preventive maintenance schedules. Support installation, commissioning and modification of current and new machinery.
• Facilities and utilities. Oversee maintenance of factory facilities, electrical systems, water supply, air compressors, ventilation, lighting and others related utilities. Coordinate repair and maintenance works for buildings and infrastructure.
• Maintenance team and contractor management. To coordinate external contractors, services providers and equipment suppliers. Supervise maintenance/contractor workers and verify completed maintenance work.
• Inventory and spare parts management. Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies. Monitor maintenance spare parts, tools and consumables and maintain appropriate stock levels for critical spare parts. Helping develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.
• Safety and compliance management. To ensure the design and the utilization of the machines & equipment are made according with all the Safety features/regulation requirements. Ensure machinery and equipment comply with DOSH/JKKP, electrical and statutory requirements.
• Documentation and reporting. To develop and maintain maintenance records, equipment history and breakdown report according to ISO9001:2015 requirement. To prepare monthly maintenance reports covering breakdowns, downtime, preventive maintenance completion and maintenance costs as required by management. Track basic MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), machine downtime and maintenance performance.
• Continuous Improvement management. To identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, productivity and energy efficiency. To participate and apply in ISO9001, HSE, 5S, GMP, Cost-saving and continuous improvement programs. Recommend equipment upgrades or modifications where necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned. To comply with company's instruction for any additional task required by the Management.

Requirements

• Graduate with SKM/Diploma, Manufacturing or Engineering or any equivalent.
• Good experience in power skill troubleshooting and repairing the machines in minor & major issue
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance inclusive of pneumatic, hydraulic and automation systems
• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques, ability to read engineering drawings, electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Good experience in planning, ability to prioritize urgency and strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends if necessary
• Able to solve the route shift issue relate to machines or fixtures at production lines
• Able to work independently and less supervised, proactive and responsible attitude
• Results-oriented and committed to reducing machine breakdown.
• A minimum of 2-year experience in a similar role.
