Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Respond to breakdowns immediately and coordinate with vendors for major repairs.
• Record breakdown data for downtime analysis and maintenance planning.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance per machine schedules.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns immediately and repair faults.
• Troubleshoot CNC controller alarms and PLC issues.
• Repair or replace spindles, ballscrews, linear guides and ATC components.
• Coordinate with OEM/vendors for major repairs and verify completion.
• Maintain records of downtime, faults and parts used.
• Perform PM checks and train operators in TPM checks.
• Ensure safety procedures and lockout/tagout are followed.

SPINDLE & BEARINGS

Job description

Respond to machine breakdowns immediately; diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults

Troubleshoot CNC controller alarms (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens or Heidenhain) and PLC/ladder issues

Repair or replace spindles, ballscrews, linear guides, ATC (tool changer), turrets, coolant pumps, lubrication and chip conveyors

Coordinate with machine OEM/vendor for major repairs; supervise vendor work and verify completion

Record every breakdown: machine, fault, root cause, action taken, downtime hours, parts used

2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Execute PM schedule (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly) per machine — lubrication, filters, coolant concentration, way covers, belts, air supply, cabinet cooling

Check and correct machine accuracy: levelling, backlash compensation, spindle runout, alignment

Monitor spindle vibration, temperature and abnormal noise; plan intervention before failure

Review and improve PM checklists based on breakdown history

Train operators on daily autonomous maintenance (TPM) checks

3. Supporting Equipment

Maintain air compressors, dryers, chillers, CMM environment support, forklifts and workshop utilities

Support maintenance of ED coating line utilities (pumps, rectifier, oven burners, DI water system) when required

4. Spare Parts Control

Maintain critical spare parts list per machine with min/max stock levels

Raise PRs early for long-lead parts (spindle bearings, servo drives, encoders, boards)

Record spare parts usage in the inventory system; support stock count

5. Records & Reporting

Maintain machine history files and maintenance logs for ISO/customer audits

Monthly report: downtime hours per machine, MTBF, MTTR, PM completion %, top 5 recurring faults, maintenance cost

Propose machine overhaul, retrofit or replacement with cost justification

6. Safety

Apply LOTO (lockout/tagout) for all maintenance work

Ensure machine safety interlocks, doors and emergency stops are functional

Follow ESH requirements for electrical work and chemical handling

KPIs

MTTR reduced quarter-on-quarter

Repeat breakdown (same fault within 30 days) ≤ 5%

Zero safety incidents during maintenance
