Job description

1. CNC Milling, CNC Turning & Conventional Machinists

Read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, process sheets, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements and dimensional tolerances.

Set up and operate CNC milling machines, CNC turning (lathe) machines, and conventional machines (manual lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, surface grinder, etc.) according to production requirements.

Prepare machines for production by installing workholding devices, fixtures, jigs, cutting tools, and measuring equipment.

Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, and machining parameters such as spindle speed, feed rate, depth of cut, and coolant application based on material type and machining operations.

Load, edit, verify, and optimize CNC machining programs when required, including setting work offsets, tool offsets, and machine zero points.

Perform machining operations including facing, turning, drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, threading, grooving, contour milling, slotting, pocket milling, and surface finishing.

Monitor machine performance throughout the machining process and make necessary adjustments to tooling, offsets, or cutting conditions to maintain dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.

Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, dial indicators, thread gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), where applicable.

Ensure all machined components meet engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications, and quality standards before releasing them for the next production stage.

Identify machining defects, dimensional deviations, or quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Replace worn or damaged cutting tools and inserts, perform tool presetting, and monitor tool life to minimize downtime and maintain machining quality.

Perform routine preventive maintenance, machine cleaning, lubrication, and daily equipment inspections to ensure machines remain in good operating condition.

Maintain accurate production records, machine utilization reports, tooling records, inspection reports, and non-conformance documentation.

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI), quality management system requirements, and company manufacturing standards.

Comply with workplace health, safety, environmental (HSE), and 5S requirements by maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work closely with CNC programmers, manufacturing engineers, supervisors, maintenance technicians, and quality inspectors to resolve production issues and improve machining processes.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and waste reduction activities to improve productivity, reduce machining cycle time, and optimize manufacturing costs.

Support new product introduction (NPI), process validation, tooling trials, and prototype machining activities when required.

Meet daily production targets while ensuring product quality, machine efficiency, and on-time delivery in accordance with production schedules.1. CNC Milling Machinist
