Job summary

GEXCEL ASIA SDN BHD in Malaysia is seeking skilled machinists for surface grinding, CNC milling, wire cutting and EDM roles. You will operate and set up machines, read engineering drawings, and follow specifications to produce precision components, moulds, jigs, fixtures and tooling parts.

Responsibilities include selecting tools and parameters, performing dimensional inspections, ensuring quality, and maintaining machines.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM, SKM, certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Machining or a related field.
• Basic ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and machining processes.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions and meet production deadlines.
• Good attention to detail, problem-solving skills and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to learn, develop technical skills and work as part of a team.
• Relevant experience in precision machining, mould making, tooling or manufacturing is an advantage.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and machining instructions.
• Perform machining operations to manufacture precision components, moulds, jigs, fixtures and tooling parts according to specifications.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, electrodes, workholding devices and machining parameters for assigned operations.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges and other precision measuring tools.
• Ensure machined parts meet required dimensional accuracy, surface finish and quality standards.
• Perform machine adjustments, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and comply with workplace safety requirements and standard operating procedures.
• Complete machining records and report any quality issues, machine abnormalities or production delays to the supervisor.
• Work closely with the engineering and production teams to meet delivery schedules and production targets.

Machinist positions in Surface Grinding, CNC Milling, Wire Cut and Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM). About you
