Job summary

Wasco Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a skilled machinist to support the production of items from drawings. You will prepare materials, tools and machines for conventional machining, and operate lathe and milling operations according to specifications.

You will perform basic inspection, calibrate fixtures, assist with machine maintenance, and help troubleshoot breakdowns, while maintaining clean and safe work areas. 1–2 years of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

• Possess at least SKM Level 3, SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of working experience in a similar position.
• Hands-on experience in operating conventional lathe machines.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Responsible, disciplined, and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Receive Work Orders, raw materials, and drawings for items to be produced.
• Prepare the required materials, tools, and machines for conventional machining.
• Ensure measuring and cutting tools are properly calibrated and in good working condition.
• Perform conventional machining operations, including lathe and milling, according to drawing specifications.
• Conduct basic inspection and measurement to ensure machined parts meet required specifications.
• Assist in periodic machine maintenance and servicing.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing machines in the event of breakdowns.
• Ensure proper upkeep, cleanliness, and condition of machines, tools, and work areas.
• Perform any other tasks or activities assigned by the superior/management from time to time.

Requirements:
