About the role

Limpahan Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Machinist for CNC to join our production team in Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision components and parts according to specifications. This role is integral to ensuring our production schedules are met whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines including mills, lathes and machining centres to produce components according to engineering drawings and specifications
• Set up CNC machines, including installing tools, fixtures and workholding devices, and configuring machine parameters
• Monitor machine operation to ensure components are produced to required tolerances and quality standards
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, surface finish and defects using precision measuring instruments
• Troubleshoot machine issues and perform minor repairs or adjustments as needed
• Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine performance and any issues encountered
• Collaborate with production planning and quality teams to meet production schedules and quality requirements
• Adhere to all workplace health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar machining role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation, programming fundamentals and G-code
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications
• Competency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers and gauges
• Understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, speeds, feeds and material properties
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work to tight tolerances
• Strong organisational and time management skills to meet production deadlines
• Ability to work safely and follow health and safety protocols
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in CNC machining would be advantageous
