Job summary

Penang Skills Development Centre is seeking a Machinist to support fabrication operations. The role requires coordinating technical work, analyzing drawings, performing machine setup, and proposing process improvements to meet company standards.

The ideal candidate has a Vocational/SPM background and about one year of related experience, with a solid ability to operate machinery and maintain quality and safety across the shop floor.

Qualifications

SPM/Vocational qualification required.
1 year working experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
Knowledge and experience to operate machine.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and solve technical problems to complete jobs on time.
Analyse and work independently on drawings, calculations, setups and processes.
Prepare weekly progress reports.
Propose improvements to fabrication processes to meet standards.
Coordinate with others to develop fabrication processes for assigned jobs.
Commit to estimated hours and lead times when required.
Ensure all jobs are arranged and completed promptly.
Control the highest quality of products produced.
Maintain machines and arrange servicing when required.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Follow work instructions and assign additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

To co-ordinate and solve any technical problem within your knowledge in order to get the job done on time.
To analyse and work independently on technical drawing, calculation, set-up, process, method, machine operations, tools and equipment.
To prepare weekly progress report.
To propose technical improvement on fabrication process, method and speed to meet company standard.
To co-ordinate with others to develop good fabrication process for any job assigned.
To have commitment on estimate hours and lead time when required.
Responsible for arranging and completing all assigned job in time.
To control the highest quality of products produced.
Maintaining of machines and arranging for machines to be serviced when required.
Responsible for machining and arranging for machines to be serviced when required.
To ensure the working surrounding is kept clean and safe.
To maintain cleanliness of the machine.
To follow Work Instruction accordingly.
All others responsibilities assigned by Supervisor from time to time.
