About the role

PS Mechanical Supply & Services is seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our production team in Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, directly contributing to the precision production of components that meet our clients' exacting standards. As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) lathe equipment, ensuring optimal performance and the consistent delivery of high-quality machined parts. This role is central to our production planning and scheduling operations, helping us maintain our reputation for excellence in the manufacturing, transport and logistics sector.

What you'll be doing

Operating CNC lathe machines to produce precision components according to technical specifications and engineering drawings

Setting up CNC lathe equipment, including tool changes, workholding devices and machine parameters to achieve required tolerances

Monitoring machine operations during production cycles and making real-time adjustments to ensure quality and consistency

Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC lathe equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity

Conducting quality inspections and measurements of machined components using appropriate measurement tools and equipment

Troubleshooting machine malfunctions and performing corrective actions or escalating issues to maintenance personnel as required

Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and work specifications to understand production requirements

Maintaining accurate production records and documentation as per company and client requirements

Adhering to all health and safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organised work environment

Collaborating with production supervisors and planning teams to meet production schedules and deadlines

What we're looking for

Proven experience operating and programming CNC lathe machines in a production environment

Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, workholding and turning operations

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and engineering specifications

Experience with precision measurement tools such as micrometres, calliper gauges and digital measuring devices

Solid understanding of tolerances, surface finishes and quality standards in precision machining

Ability to set up machines independently and make adjustments to achieve required specifications

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues

Ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues

Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle materials safely

Formal qualification or certification in CNC machining or mechanical engineering is advantageous

Experience with CAM programming software would be beneficial
