Job summary

SMC Automation in Selangor is looking for an entry-level machinist to support production, focusing on safety and accuracy. You will handle raw materials, operate machines, and assist with assembly and testing of components.

The role welcomes fresh graduates with on-the-job training, and requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work in a team or independently.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM/STPM or equivalent with certificate in General Machining.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. On-the-job training will be provided.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Observed and practices machining safety rules and instructions at all times
• Ensure that personal protection equipment’s are put on when in production floor
• Proper handling of production machines, tools and equipment
• Prepare raw material upon received of production order
• Ensure machining jobs meet or within set accuracy requirement
• Issuing of components, assembly and testing of cylinder as per set procedures and instruction
• Scheduled maintenance activities carried out
• Perform receiving inspection when stock in goods
• To report any rejects, damaged, shortage of goods, tools or abnormalities to department head
• Other related matters
• Ensure to practice and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA), - Section 24- General duties of employees at work.
• Ensure to practice and handling scheduled waste in line with Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005 and its guideline.
• Perform other assignment as required.
• Any other activities / events assigned by company (e.g., Annual Stock Take, Product Exhibition, etc.)
