Job summary

NSW Automation Sdn Bhd, based in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a machine vision engineer to join a team focused on integrating cameras, optics, lighting, and image-processing algorithms into production machines.

You will develop reliable vision software for inspection, alignment, and calibration, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to ensure seamless system integration and field troubleshooting. Chinese language ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in machine vision, image processing, or software development.
• Strong programming skills in C# / .NET and OOP understanding.
• Knowledge of image processing and computer vision basics.
• Experience with vision libraries such as OpenCV/Emgu CV/Halcon or equivalents.
• Understanding of industrial cameras, lighting, and camera interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine vision applications using C# / .NET and vision libraries.
• Create image-processing algorithms for inspection, measurement, detection, alignment, and positioning.
• Implement techniques like thresholding, segmentation, blob analysis, edge/contour detection, and pattern matching.
• Perform camera calibration and coordinate transformation.
• Develop algorithms to extract geometric features (points, lines, circles, rectangles, contours).
• Optimize vision algorithms for accuracy, speed, and reliability.
• Integrate vision systems with machine control, PLCs, and I/O.
