Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on manufacturing machinery to ensure performance and safety.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in machines; identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
• Replace worn parts and bearings to maintain equipment functionality.
• Operate and calibrate machinery per specifications and SOPs.
• Keep detailed maintenance records and logs of work and hours spent.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Machine Technician to join our team at Maju Terus Industries (M) Sdn.Bhd. in Pagoh, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining and optimising our manufacturing equipment and machinery. As a Machine Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machines operate at peak efficiency, minimising downtime, and contributing to our commitment to delivering high-quality products and services. Your technical expertise will be essential to the smooth operation of our production facilities and the success of our business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on manufacturing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in machines, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
• Conduct preventative maintenance schedules to minimise equipment downtime and extend machinery lifespan
• Replace worn or damaged parts, components, and bearings as needed to maintain equipment functionality
• Operate and calibrate machinery according to technical specifications and standard operating procedures
• Keep detailed maintenance records and logs documenting all work performed, parts used, and hours spent on repairs
• Liaise with production staff to communicate equipment status, maintenance schedules, and any operational concerns
• Perform basic welding, fabrication, and metal work repairs when required
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following workplace safety protocols
• Support the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and contribute to reducing operational costs

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Machine Technician or similar technical role in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of machinery maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting techniques
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to industrial machinery
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work, including lifting, bending, and working at heights when necessary
• Relevant technical certifications or diplomas in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related fields are advantageous
• Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance practices is preferred
