Job summary

Laser Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines and equipment.

You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues, attend breakdowns and ensure timely repair to minimize downtime, while maintaining comprehensive maintenance records and supporting installation and commissioning of new machinery.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma or higher in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics or related field.
• Proven ability in maintenance or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, mechanical repair, and machine troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines and equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Attend machine breakdowns and ensure timely repair to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections on machinery and factory facilities.
• Maintain maintenance records, reports, and service logs.
• Support installation, setup, and commissioning of new machines or equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with production personnel to improve machine performance and efficiency.
• Monitor spare parts usage and report shortages when necessary.
• Perform basic facility maintenance including lighting, air compressors, piping, pumps, and utilities.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices in the maintenance area.

Requirements

Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

Minimum 1–3 years working experience in maintenance or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge in electrical wiring, mechanical repair, and machine troubleshooting.

Experience with CNC machines, fabrication equipment, or production machinery is an added advantage.

Good problem-solving and hands-on technical skills.

Willing to work overtime, shifts, or on-call when required.

Positive attitude, responsible, and able to work independently.
