LEE FAH MEE SENDIRIAN BERHAD is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician in Kuching, Malaysia. You will maintain production machinery, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of relevant experience, with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, reading technical drawings, and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or factory maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Able to read basic technical drawings/electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Hands-on and technically minded with good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of production machinery and equipment.
• Conduct daily machine checks to ensure safe operation.
• Identify abnormal machine conditions and diagnose root causes.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Record breakdowns and maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support to ensure smooth production operations.

Job description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance of production machinery and equipment. You will work closely with the Production Department to minimise machine downtime, maintain equipment reliability and ensure production operations run safely and efficiently. This role is suitable for a hands-on, technically skilled and responsible individual who enjoys troubleshooting machinery and working in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

Perform routine inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of production machinery, equipment and supporting facilities

Conduct daily machine and equipment checks to ensure they are in safe and proper working condition

Identify abnormal machine conditions such as unusual noise, vibration, overheating, leakage or abnormal performance

Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance to minimise equipment downtime

Replace worn, damaged or defective components such as bearings, belts, chains, gears, sensors, switches, motors, valves, pumps and other machine parts

Respond promptly to machine breakdowns during production operations and diagnose root causes

Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance according to the approved maintenance plan

Perform basic electrical troubleshooting of production machinery and equipment

Provide technical support to the Production Department to ensure smooth production operations

Record machine breakdowns, repairs, servicing and preventive maintenance activities

About you

Certificate, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or other relevant technical fields

Preferably 1–3 years of relevant working experience in manufacturing, factory maintenance, engineering or production

Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

Good understanding of machine maintenance and troubleshooting

Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance

Able to use hand tools and basic testing instruments

Able to read basic technical drawings, electrical diagrams and equipment manuals

Hands‑on and technically minded

Responsible and reliable with good troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Safety-conscious and disciplined
