Job summary

YANJIAN GROUP CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced M&E professional in Penang to manage projects, coordinate on-site work with subcontractors and workers, and oversee construction processes in the Penang market.

The role requires 5+ years in M&E, a degree or diploma in related fields, strong drawing interpretation skills, and the ability to liaise with consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant M&E experience, preferably in building construction projects.
• Able to read and interpret M&E drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Experience supervising and coordinating M&E site activities with subcontractors and workers.
• Capable of coordinating with consultants, main contractors and site teams to resolve issues.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem solving and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Site supervision and M&E installation coordination.
• Coordination with subcontractors, consultants and other trades.
• Monitor work progress, quality and construction schedules.
• Review drawings and resolve technical issues.
• Prepare and follow up on RFAs, RFIs and technical submissions.
• Conduct inspections and coordinate testing and commissioning.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain project documentation.
• Support CPC inspection and project handover.

Job description

M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) professional role involving project management responsibilities, coordinating on-site work with subcontractors and workers, and managing construction processes in the Penang market.

Key Requirement

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works, preferably in building construction projects.
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• Liaise sub-contractors including monitoring the progress and follow–up with sub-contractors on approved work.
• Able to read and interpret M&E drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Experienced in supervising and coordinating M&E site activities, subcontractors, and workers to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and project requirements.
• Able to monitor work progress, inspect installation quality, and ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and relevant standards.
• Capable of coordinating with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and other site teams to resolve technical issues and avoid work clashes.
• Familiar with site inspections, testing and commissioning, defect rectification, and preparation of site reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
• Good communication, coordination, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently, take initiative, and meet project deadlines.
