An M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) engineer designs, installs, and maintains the internal systems that make buildings safe, comfortable, and functional. They manage critical infrastructure like air conditioning, power, plumbing, and fire safety, bridging the gap between architectural design and practical construction.
Coordinate and supervise all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works to ensure compliance with project schedule, quality standards, and technical specifications.
Review M&E drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions before implementation.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities on all M&E-related matters.
Oversee the installation of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection, electrical, ELV, and other building services.
Conduct site inspections to ensure M&E works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and statutory requirements.
Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship, materials, and installation progress.
Coordinate Testing & Commissioning (T&C), authority inspections, defect rectification, and final system handover.
Identify and resolve technical issues and clashes between M&E and other construction disciplines.
Prepare M&E progress reports, site records, inspection reports, and project documentation.
Ensure all M&E works comply with QA/QC requirements, safety regulations, and company standards.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum3–5 yearsof relevant experience in M&E engineering for building construction projects.
Strong knowledge of M&E systems, including HVAC, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection, electrical services.
Able to read and interpret M&E drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
Familiar with Testing & Commissioning (T&C), authority inspections, and building services requirements.
Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Involvement in sequencing, starting up, and benchmarking performance metrics for major equipment.
Using tools like AutoCAD or Revit to resolve multi-disciplinary design clashes before site installation.
Experienced in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fire protection, high/low voltage electrical systems, and extra-low voltage (ELV).
Able to read and coordinate M&E drawings against structural and architectural drawings.
