Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a responsible Customer Service & Declaration Assistant to handle import/export documentation and customs declarations, coordinate haulage, and communicate with customers.

The role requires knowledge of customs procedures, import/export docs, and logistics operations, with attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Diploma in related fields and prior freight forwarding or shipping experience are preferred. Immediate start is welcome.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Shipping, Freight Forwarding, Customs, Business Administration.
• Experience in freight forwarding, shipping, logistics or Customs declaration.
• Good knowledge of import/export procedures, Customs regulations and trade documentation.
• Experience in preparing and submitting Customs declarations is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail, and accuracy when handling documentation.
• Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight operational deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process import and export Customs declarations and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure Customs declarations comply with relevant Customs regulations, procedures and requirements.
• Coordinate and monitor haulage delivery arrangements to ensure timely collection and delivery of containers/cargo.
• Arrange vessel and shipment bookings with shipping lines.
• Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, Customs, customers and other relevant parties regarding shipment arrangements and documentation.
• Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, documentation requirements, delivery arrangements and other operational matters.
• Follow up on shipment and delivery status and provide timely updates to customers.
• Check shipping and Customs documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in resolving documentation, delivery and operational issues.
• Maintain proper records and filing of shipment and Customs-related documents.
• Perform other duties related to customer service, documentation and logistics operations as assigned by the supervisor.
