Job summary

Synactic in Penang is seeking a logistics professional to manage inbound and outbound logistics, customs compliance, and forwarder performance. You will work with internal teams, customers, forwarders, carriers, and authorities to deliver goods accurately, compliantly, and on time.

The role requires a Diploma or degree in Logistics or related field, experience in logistics or freight, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
• Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, warehousing, or import/export.
• Knowledge of customs documentation, duties, taxes, tariff codes and Malaysia trade rules.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Track supply chain KPIs for cost, service, productivity, accuracy, quality, safety, and timeliness.
• Maintain logistics reports, process documents, customer logs, training records, and safety records.
• Fulfil customer-specific reporting and transportation requirements.
• Resolve transportation, warehouse, import, export, delivery, and customer issues.
• Manage forwarder selection, qualification, onboarding, evaluation, and compliance.
• Coordinate distribution centre, warehouse, inbound, and outbound operations.
• Develop emergency supply-continuity and risk-management plans.
• Improve logistics systems and processes, and assess the financial impact of routing, shipping mode, volumes, product mix, and carrier changes.
• Manage logistics quality and safety performance.
• Calculate import/export duties and taxes.
• Coordinate customs licence renewals.
• Liaise with Accounts on customs and tariff-code updates, including SST, GST, and other applicable classifications.

About the role

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, warehousing, import/export, or a similar role.

Knowledge of customs documentation, duties, taxes, tariff codes, and Malaysian trade requirements.

Experience with forwarder or transport-provider management.

Strong organisation, attention to detail, reporting, cost analysis, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Able to work independently and manage time-sensitive issues.
