Job description

Role Summary

The Logistics Executive owns the end-to-end integrity of the inbound supply pipeline, physical inventory synchronization, and third-party logistics (3PL) partner performance. Serving as the structural owner of logistics data across ERP systems (JDE) and external WMS, this role manages inbound freight tracking, demurrage controls, customs compliance, value-added packaging production, exception management, and month-end financial reporting loops.

Core Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics & 3PL Operations Management
  • Manage inbound supply pipeline from initial Purchase Order (PO) through customs clearance to physical warehouse intake.
  • Govern Inbound Shipment Tracker as single source of truth for tracking ETA milestones and Goods Received Notes (GRN).
  • Liaise with vendors, freight forwarders, and 3PL partners on schedules, documentation, and Bill of Lading (BL) verifications.
  • Lead monthly 3PL performance review meetings to evaluate operational KPIs, track SLAs, and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Monitor port/container dwell times against contractual free days to systematically eliminate detention and demurrage expenses.
Inventory Control & Systems Integration (JDE / WMS)
  • Lead regular inventory synchronization routines to ensure alignment between JDE ERP ledgers, external WMS logs, and physical stock.
  • Manage system execution of inventory adjustments, cross-warehouse transfers, and damage re-classifications in JDE.
  • Diagnose operational root causes and evaluate financial impacts of physical or system stock variances, deploying rapid corrections.
  • Align local Value-Added Packaging (VAP) production schedules with 3PL providers based on component availability and commercial demand.
  • Execute physical and systemic stock isolation/freezes in JDE upon validation from Customer Service for priority campaigns.
End-to-End Damage Governance & Exception Management
  • Take ownership of inbound damages; compile evidence, assess container conditions against BL, and lodge formal claims against shippers/underwriters.
  • Investigate outbound transit damages escalated by Customer Service, evaluate carrier performance, and initiate liability claims.
  • Investigate warehouse floor breakages and hold 3PL operators financially accountable for reimbursement based on contract terms.
  • Report incidents in the complaint management system (LOOP) and manage immediate system isolation into blocked quarantine codes in JDE.
  • Source replacement dry goods from vendors to support rework, and execute repacking or Certified Destruction Protocols for unsalvageable liquids.
Customs Compliance, Finance, & Month-End Closing
  • Validate import/export duties and tax requisitions, auditing 3PL customs declarations for statutory and tariff compliance.
  • Coordinate with 3PL partners and Finance to execute weekly sales closings and drive timely JDE Month-End operational closing sequences.
  • Prepare Goods In Transit (GIT) tracking files, stock aging reports, and detailed stock-related reconciliations for Finance.
  • Maintain logistics master data (landed cost/transfer pricing) and prepare documentation for monthly customs reporting and license renewals.
Exception Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Investigate and resolve cross-functional escalations regarding transit damages, batch quality discrepancies, and delivery failures.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Planning to optimize inventory turnover and minimize Slow-Moving and Obsolete (SLOB) risks.
  • Identify continuous workflow improvement opportunities to eliminate non-value-added steps and streamline processes.
Stakeholder Management & General Governance
  • Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and robust internal supply chain policies.
  • Foster highly collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Service.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Requirements
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience: min 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, or import/export management.
  • Industry Profile: Background within FMCG, Wine & Spirits, Pharmaceutical, or Consumer Healthcare industries is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Transaction proficiency in JD Edwards (JDE) or a major ERP equivalent; intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Core Competencies: Highly organized with an ability to execute under pressure; proactive initiative with strong analytical mindset.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication abilities across internal corporate business functions and with external partners.
  • A strong team player who naturally adopts a supportive role toward colleagues, demonstrating flexibility, empathy, and a willingness to assist others to achieve collective departmental goals.
  • Highly open to change and adaptive to job rotation programs aimed at building a well-rounded understanding of the end-to-end order-to-cash and logistics ecosystem.
