Job summary

Biomed Global seeks a Life Sciences - Application - Specialist to provide timely technical support and troubleshooting for our life sciences products in Malaysia. You will understand customer lab workflows and translate scientific needs into practical solutions.

The role includes product installations, trainings, and workshops; collaborating with Sales for demonstrations; ensuring ISO QMS compliance, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc/PhD in Biomedical Science or related field.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques (qPCR, NGS, Sanger, microarray).
• Minimum three years in life sciences application support or training.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication and troubleshooting abilities.
• Independent, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely technical assistance and troubleshooting for Life Sciences products.
• Maintain up-to-date understanding of customer application needs and lab workflows.
• Conduct product installations, refresher trainings, and user support sessions.
• Plan, develop, and conduct scientific courses and workshops for internal and external participants.
• Support Sales and Marketing with product demonstrations and campaigns.

Job Description

Technical Support and Customer Engagement

• Provide timely and effective technical assistance and troubleshooting for customer issues related to Life Sciences products.
• Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of customer application needs, laboratory practices, and workflow requirements.

Training and Workshops

• Conduct product installations, refresher trainings, and user support sessions for customers.
• Evaluate customer competency post-training to ensure knowledge transfer and practical proficiency.
• Plan, develop, and conduct scientific courses, workshops, and seminars for both internal and external participants.

Sales and Marketing Support

• Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to support business activities, including product demonstrations, trade shows, exhibitions, and user meetings.
• Assist in product validations and evaluations to support pre-sales and post-sales initiatives.
• Provide scientific input to support marketing campaigns, technical materials, and product positioning strategies.
• Provides regular feedback and reports on market and competitive situations to the Business Manager, Product Manager and Application Manager.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

• Ensure all activities and documentation comply with ISO Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Uphold company policies, safety standards, and ethical business practices during all customer interactions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare and submit weekly activity reports to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, product installations, and technical issue resolutions.

General and Ad Hoc Duties

• Perform other related duties and assignments as assigned by the Director or immediate superior.
  

Requirements

• B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. degree inBiomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field within thelife sciences.
• Knowledgeable with broad experiencein molecular biology techniques and applications such as Real-Time PCR (qPCR),next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, or microarray.
• Working experience inlaboratory environment, preferably in research institution with a minimum ofthree years of application support or training in life sciences field arerequired.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of contemporaryresearch methodologies and laboratory protocols.
• Experience inemerging bioinformatics tools, public databases, and troubleshootingsample-to-result issues is an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  
• Strong analytical mind and troubleshooting skills.
  
• Independent, responsible, and well-organised with the ability to managemultiple tasks.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  
• Proactive in continuous learning and keeping abreast of technologicaladvances.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel; allowance is given accordingly.
