Job summary

Biomed Global in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is seeking a Technical Support and Customer Engagement professional to provide timely technical assistance and optimize workflows for Life Sciences products.

You will conduct product installations, trainings, and user sessions, and support pre-/post-sales activities with a focus on PCR, sequencing, and lab practices. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and conduct scientific courses, workshops, and seminars for internal and external participants.
• Work with Sales and Marketing to support product demonstrations, trade shows, and user meetings.
• Provide scientific input for marketing campaigns, technical materials, and product positioning strategies.
• Maintain weekly activity reports and document customer interactions, installations, and resolutions.
• Ensure ISO QMS compliance and uphold safety and ethical standards in all interactions.
• Travel to customer sites as needed; allowances provided.

Technical Support and Customer Engagement

• Provide timely and effective technical assistance and troubleshooting for customer issues related to Life Sciences products.


• Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of customer application needs, laboratory practices, and workflow requirements.

Training and Workshops

• Conduct product installations, refresher trainings, and user support sessions for customers.


• Evaluate customer competency post-training to ensure knowledge transfer and practical proficiency.


• Plan, develop, and conduct scientific courses, workshops, and seminars for both internal and external participants.

Sales and Marketing Support

• Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to support business activities, including product demonstrations, trade shows, exhibitions, and user meetings.


• Assist in product validations and evaluations to support pre-sales and post-sales initiatives.


• Provide scientific input to support marketing campaigns, technical materials, and product positioning strategies.


• Provides regular feedback and reports on market and competitive situations to the Business Manager, Product Manager and Application Manager.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

• Ensure all activities and documentation comply with ISO Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.


• Uphold company policies, safety standards, and ethical business practices during all customer interactions.


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare and submit weekly activity reports to the supervisor.


• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, product installations, and technical issue resolutions.

General and Ad Hoc Duties

• Perform other related duties and assignments as assigned by the Director or immediate superior.

Requirements

• B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field within the life sciences.


• Knowledgeable with broad experience in molecular biology techniques and applications such as Real-Time PCR (qPCR), next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, or microarray.


• Working experience in laboratory environment, preferably in research institution with a minimum of three years of application support or training in life sciences field are required.


• Demonstrate a solid understanding of contemporary research methodologies and laboratory protocols.


• Experience in emerging bioinformatics tools, public databases, and troubleshooting sample-to-result issues is an added advantage.


• Possess own transport and willing to travel; allowance is given accordingly.
