Job summary

Atomic Recruitment SEA is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel in Kuala Lumpur to provide strategic legal guidance across corporate, commercial and regulatory matters. The role involves drafting and negotiating complex agreements, overseeing contract management, and supporting M&A and financing activities.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in corporate/commercial law with strong drafting and stakeholder management skills, capable of independent prioritisation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong background in corporate and commercial law, contract management and litigation.
• Exposure to construction, infrastructure, energy or manufacturing industries would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with M&A, financing agreements and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements is an added advantage.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory support to senior management and business stakeholders on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate various legal documents, including commercial agreements, construction contracts, financing agreements and other business-related contracts.
• Oversee contract management processes and ensure contractual terms are aligned with business objectives while protecting the company's interests.
• Support corporate exercises, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financing arrangements and other business transactions.
• Manage litigation, contractual disputes and legal claims, including coordination with external legal counsel.
• Identify and assess potential legal and compliance risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact business operations.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across different business units on legal, compliance and risk management matters.
• Support the development and improvement of internal legal policies, procedures and governance practices.
