Job summary

Messrs. Kriishand G Krishnan in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced litigation advocate to manage matters from commencement to conclusion with minimal supervision. You will handle files independently and attend court proceedings as required.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings and affidavits, conducting comprehensive legal research, liaising with clients, solicitors, court officials and authorities, and providing timely updates on case progress.

Qualifications

• PQE 1–3 years post-qualification experience required.
• Strong command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin preferred.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills required.

Job description

Manage and conduct litigation matters from commencement to conclusion with minimal supervision. Handle files and cases independently, including attending to court proceedings, case managements, hearings, trials and appeals, where required.

Key responsibilities

Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence and other legal and court documents

Conduct thorough legal research and analysis using the Lexis Advance legal research platform

Liaise with clients, solicitors, court officers, government authorities and other relevant stakeholders

Keep clients updated on the progress and outcome of their matters

Assist in complex litigation matters and undertake such other legal duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Requirements

Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya with a valid Practising Certificate

1–3 years' post-qualification experience (PQE)

Excellent command of English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin(added advantage), both written and spoken

Experience in insolvency and restructuring matters will be an added advantage

Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills

Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

Proactive, responsible and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Able to manage multiple matters effectively and work within tight deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
