Qualifications

• Minimum SPM/STPM or equivalent; Certificate or Diploma in Education or a related field is an added advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children in an educational or structured learning environment.
• Good literacy, numeracy, organisational and ICT skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Support students with learning activities and plan delivery with classroom teachers.
• Provide one-to-one or small-group support as directed by the teacher.
• Attend weekly year group planning meetings.
• Prepare for lessons by reading lesson plans and identifying groups and objectives.
• Feedback to teachers based on pupil progress, wellbeing and interventions.
• Assist form tutors to prepare materials ahead of a lesson.

The successful candidate will support students in their learning and development by working closely with teachers to provide appropriate academic, social, and emotional support. The role will involve assisting students with classroom activities, providing individual or small-group support where required, and helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Work with specifictargetedgroups of children during every lesson as directed by the classroom teacher. This should range betweengroups of low,middleand high attaining learners.

Work on a one-to-one basis with students in specific casesas directed by the classroom teacher.

Attend weekly year group planning meetings.

Prepare for upcoming lessons by reading lessonplans in advance. Thisincludesidentifyingwhich groups you areworking with andunderstanding the specificobjectivestailored for each group within the context of each lesson.

Feedback to the classroom teacher daily. Thefeedbackprovidedtoteachersshould be basedon pupil’s achievementagainstobjectives,pupilwellbeingandmay include feedback onparticular interventionsand their effectiveness.

Assistthe home room teachers to prepare materialahead of a lesson.

Preparehalf termlydisplaysaccording to the topic.

Apply strategies for promotingindependencein learners.

Encourageand support the studentswith independenceskillsaccording to the age of the students.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:
