Job summary

Peninsula International School Australia is seeking a caring Teacher Assistant to support the Homeroom Teacher and teaching team in a inclusive learning environment. You will help prepare materials, assist students with learning needs and monitor progress under teacher guidance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum SPM/STPM, Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience working with children or in a school/classroom environment is preferred.
  • Able to work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants and the wider school community.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to professional development.
  • Committed to safeguarding, child protection and appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Able to participate in student supervision duties, school activities, excursions and events as required.

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce school and classroom rules and appropriate student behaviour.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, respectful and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervise students during specialist lessons, venue transitions, recess and lunch according to the duty roster.
  • Accompany students during excursions, trips and special school events when required.
  • Attend relevant meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Build positive relationships with students, teachers, colleagues and parents.

Job description

We are seeking a caring, responsible and proactive Teacher Assistant to work closely with the Homeroom Teacher and teaching team. The role supports classroom activities, student learning and wellbeing while helping to maintain a safe, organised and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

Observe and support students' progress and provide individualised assistance under teacher guidance.

Work with the Homeroom Teacher to monitor the class schedule and classroom activities.

Reinforce school and classroom rules and appropriate student behaviour.

Maintain a safe, organised, respectful and inclusive learning environment.

Supervise students during specialist lessons, venue transitions, recess and lunch according to the duty roster.

Accompany students during excursions, trips and special school events when required.

Attend relevant meetings and professional development sessions.

Build positive relationships with students, teachers, colleagues and parents.

Uphold the School’s mission, values and applicable SEGi Group policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Good command of spoken and written English.
