Job summary

Sri KDU International School, Subang Jaya is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant (Maternity Cover) to support students with classroom activities and learning routines, under the guidance of classroom teachers. The role focuses on individual and small-group support to help students feel confident and engaged in lessons.

The successful candidate will have a basic education qualification and at least 1 year of experience working with children, with strong communication and organisational

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM/STPM or equivalent; Certificate or Diploma in Education or a related field is an added advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children in an educational or structured learning environment.
• Good literacy, numeracy, organisational and ICT skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Work with specific targeted groups of children during every lesson as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Work on a one-to-one basis with students in specific cases as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Attend weekly year group planning meetings.
• Prepare for upcoming lessons by reading lesson plans in advance.
• Feedback to the classroom teacher daily on pupil achievement and wellbeing.
• Assist the home room teachers to prepare material ahead of a lesson.
• Prepare half termly displays according to the topic.
• Apply strategies for promoting independence in learners.
• Encourage and support the students with independence skills according to age.
