Key Responsibilities
Work with specific targeted groups of children during every lesson as directed by the classroom teacher. This should range between groups of low, middle and high attaining learners.
Work on a one-to-one basis with students in specific cases as directed by the classroom teacher.
Attend weekly year group planning meetings.
Prepare for upcoming lessons by reading lesson plans in advance. This includes identifying which groups you are working with and understanding the specific objective style tailored for each group within the context of each lesson.
Feedback to the classroom teacher daily. The feedback provided to teachers should be based on pupil’s achievement against objectives, pupil wellbeing and may include feedback on particular interventions and their effectiveness.
Assist the home room teachers to prepare material ahead of a lesson.
Prepare half termly displays according to the topic.
Apply strategies for promoting independence in learners.
Encourage and support the students with independence skills according to the age of the students.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
Minimum SPM/STPM or equivalent; Certificate or Diploma in Education or a related field is an added advantage.
At least 1 year of experience working with children in an educational or structured learning environment.
Good literacy, numeracy, organisational and ICT skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers and parents.
Able to provide and adapt support according to individual students’ learning needs.
Familiarity with Primary/Elementary curriculum and classroom practices is preferred.
Calm, patient and confident in supporting classroom and student behaviour management.
Caring, responsible and passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Committed to student wellbeing, safeguarding and academic success.
Willing to learn, develop professionally and contribute positively to the school community.
