The Company is seeking an enthusiastic and strategic Learning & Development Manager to lead the Unit on a full-time basis in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a pivotal role that will shape the professional development and continuous learning culture across our organisation. As Learning & Development Manager, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive training programmes that enhance employee capabilities, drive organisational performance and support our strategic business objectives. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our workforce whilst fostering a culture of learning and growth throughout the Company.
Key responsibilities
- Assess organisational training needs through collaboration with department heads and senior management to identify skill gaps and development priorities
- Design and develop engaging learning programmes, including classroom training, online courses, workshops and mentoring initiatives tailored to various employee levels and departments
- Implement and manage training delivery across the organisation, ensuring quality content and effective facilitation
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes through assessments, feedback and metrics to measure impact on employee performance and business outcomes
- Identify and collaborate with external training providers and subject matter experts to supplement internal capacity where needed
- Develop and maintain training budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery of learning initiatives
- Create individual development plans for employees and support their career progression through targeted learning opportunities
- Stay current with industry best practices in learning and development, bringing innovative approaches to employee training and development
- Support induction and onboarding programmes for new employees, ensuring they are equipped with essential knowledge and skills
What we're looking for
- A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Training, Education or a related field (diploma or degree level)
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in Learning & Development, Training Coordination or a similar role within a corporate environment
- Proven experience in designing and delivering effective training programmes across diverse audiences and learning styles
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies and training delivery techniques
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other training technology platforms
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and use training metrics to evaluate programme effectiveness and return on investment
- Sound understanding of Malaysia's employment regulations and workplace development frameworks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with training design software
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all organisational levels
- Preferred: Experience with competency frameworks, succession planning or talent management initiatives
- Preferred: Knowledge of e-learning development and virtual training delivery methods
