Job summary

Turner & Townsend Malaysia is seeking an experienced Document Controller to support project teams across construction and engineering assignments. You will establish and maintain document control systems, manage document receipt, distribution, filing, and ensure accurate records.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of document control experience in technical environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information management, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of document control experience in construction, engineering or project environments.
• Experience supporting Industrial, Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Data Centre, Life Sciences or Infrastructure projects preferred.
• Proficiency in EDMS such as Aconex, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint or similar.
• Strong knowledge of document control processes, workflows and records management.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project document control systems and procedures.
• Manage the receipt, registration, distribution, tracking, and filing of project documents.
• Ensure all incoming and outgoing documents are accurately recorded and maintained within the document management system.
• Control the issuance and revision status of drawings, specifications, reports, RFIs, submittals, and correspondence.
• Coordinate document submission workflows between clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
• Monitor document turnaround times and follow up on pending approvals and actions.
• Maintain accurate document registers, transmittal logs, and project records.
• Ensure compliance with project document control procedures, naming conventions, and retention requirements.
• Support project audits by providing documentation and records as required.
• Manage final project documentation, handover packages, and archiving activities.
