Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a laboratory professional to plan, coordinate, and perform testing of raw materials and finished products in line with SOPs. You will oversee daily lab activities, assign tasks to staff, and review records for accuracy and compliance.

The role requires a minimum degree in chemistry or related science, strong documentation, and hands-on experience with ICP/HPLC. Independent yet collaborative in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or other relevant science-related discipline.
  • Good knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, analytical techniques, laboratory safety, chemical handling and laboratory housekeeping.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as ICP and HPLC will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and good laboratory practices will be an advantage.
  • Good attention to detail with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to supervise and work effectively with laboratory personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and perform laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products in accordance with established SOPs and approved test methods.
  • Coordinate daily laboratory activities and allocate testing tasks to laboratory personnel.
  • Review testing records and results for accuracy and compliance with established procedures for further technical review or approval.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment, apparatus, chemicals, reagents and other technical resources are properly maintained, verified, stored and available for use.
  • Coordinate equipment preventive maintenance, servicing, verification and repair with internal maintenance personnel, external service providers and equipment manufacturers.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for laboratory testing, equipment and analytical procedures, particularly for chemistry testing.
  • Support quality control, method verification, R&D activities and investigations of testing or equipment-related issues.
  • Identify and report nonconforming laboratory work, equipment issues and other technical problems and assist with follow-up actions.
  • Assist R&D, QA and QC teams with laboratory testing and other technical matters where required.
  • Perform other laboratory duties and projects assigned by the Head of Department.
