Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a dedicated laboratory assistant to support daily testing activities, sample preparation, and meticulous documentation. You will help maintain GMP and ISO 22000/HACCP aligned procedures and ensure cleanliness of the lab area.

The role requires a Diploma in a related science field, attention to detail, and a willingness to work shifts in a manufacturing environment. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma required in a relevant science field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory testing, food safety, and quality control is an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in recording test results.
• Able to follow procedures and work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label, prepare, and retain raw material, in-process, and finished product samples.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests according to approved methods and procedures.
• Record test results accurately and maintain proper laboratory documentation.
• Assist in monitoring product quality and ensuring testing is completed within the required timeframe.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, glassware, and work areas in clean and proper condition.
• Assist with calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.
• Prepare laboratory reagents, solutions, and testing materials as required.
• Report abnormal or out-of-specification results to the Laboratory Supervisor / QA Manager.

To support daily laboratory activities by conducting routine testing, sample preparation, documentation, and maintaining laboratory cleanliness and equipment in accordance with company quality, food safety, and laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, label, prepare, and retain raw material, in-process, and finished product samples.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests according to approved methods and procedures.
• Record test results accurately and maintain proper laboratory documentation.
• Assist in monitoring product quality and ensuring testing is completed within the required timeframe.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, glassware, and work areas in clean and proper condition.
• Assist with calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.
• Prepare laboratory reagents, solutions, and testing materials as required.
• Report abnormal or out-of-specification results to the Laboratory Supervisor / QA Manager.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory samples, chemicals, and waste.
• Follow company requirements relating to GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, laboratory safety, and food safety.
• Assist during internal, customer, and external audits by providing relevant laboratory records and documents.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the superior from time to time.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
