Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Assist Lab Technician to support the Lab Manager in routine laboratory duties and ensure accurate testing and sample handling. You will perform routine laboratory testing, inspections, and sample analysis according to established procedures and standards, and manage reporting and archiving.

The role includes gas sampling from CVI furnaces with GC testing, basic equipment maintenance, and contributing to quality KPIs while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Science, Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in laboratory testing, quality control, and material characterization.
• Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience in a laboratory or quality environment encouraged.
• Basic understanding of quality control processes, laboratory safety, and testing standards.
• Ability to operate laboratory instruments and testing equipment (e.g., tensile testers, microscopes, spectrometers).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lab Manager in routine laboratory duties.

• Perform regular gas sampling from CVI furnaces and test with Gas Chromatograph.
• Prepare, label, and document samples accurately.
• Managing lab testing report and comply with the archiving procedure.
• Perform 1st level maintenance on the quality lab equipment (5S, regular cleaning, basic troubleshooting & escalation to maintenance team).
• Support laboratory test equipment readiness and validate the test method.
• Supporting Quality common KPI.
• Adhere and actively participate in occupational safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and activities such as I-See I-Act, GPI, etc.
• Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives as assigned
• Perform other related duties as required.
